LOCALLY BREWED PILSNER, TRUE TO THE CZECH TRADITION

VELVET was first brewed in 2024 to celebrate the arrival of the President of the Czech Republic in Australia on the occasion of a new embassy opening in Canberra. As a symbol of Czech-Australian friendship, it was designed to connect Czech brewing tradition with Australian craftsmanship.

VELVET is brewed in Adelaide, using a selection of locally sourced malts suitable for the Czech slow brewing process. By strictly following traditional Pilsner brewing techniques and allowing extra time for natural conditioning in horizontal tanks, the beer uncovers the new taste potential of local malts.

In combination with Czech Saaz hops and an original strain of Pilsner yeast—over 130 years old and grown fresh for every single batch—VELVET offers a unique taste harmony, high drinkability, and exquisite freshness. Always cellar-fresh, non-filtered, and non-pasteurized.

We are professionally rooted in European brewing culture and share our know-how to craft unique beer experiences in Australia. We brew VELVET from premum local malts, strictly according to traditional Czech principles,  and we don’t regret the extra time and efforts. The production cycle of VELVET is 3.5 to 4 times longer compared to the production of modern mass-produced lagers. We know that the natural brewing process needs this time to develop the desired harmony in taste and aroma. We also secure traditional tapping technologies and glassware, and provide staff training in pouring techniques, service, and maintenance to make every pint of VELVET outstanding.

We do not compromise on the quality and authenticity of traditional service. Beer comes with a rich, smooth, and silky foam that protects it from oxygen and provides a rich and unique taste experience. The pour matt

We do not compromise on the quality and authenticity of traditional service. Beer comes with a rich, smooth, and silky foam that protects it from oxygen and provides a rich and unique taste experience. The pour matters and makes a difference. We support venues in serving beer by a trained tapster into the right, immaculately clean glass. Beer is recommended to be served at the right temperature of 5.5 - 7.2°C to reveal its full complexity of flavors and aroma, as intended by the brewer.
